Mike - LAMY safari ncode
My work today is very personally driven. I think that's the only way you can honestly communicate today.
Tension arises at the interfaces
Art director, designer, artist, curator: Mike Meiré moves effortlessly between different roles. What inspires him is the constant examination of the past, the present and the future.
The world is changing. Everyone agrees on that. But there is disagreement about what to make of it. Mike Meiré is neither an advocate of progress nor a cultural pessimist. He does not evaluate the new according to binary categories, but takes an unbiased look at transformation processes and their significance for culture and society.
In his agency Meiré und Meiré, which he founded with his brother Marc in the 1980s, he and his team work at the interface of design, art, culture, business and architecture. The main material here is pixels. On the opposite side, as an artist he works with the materials of clay, varnish, paint and canvas.
In doing so, Mike Meiré never asks the either-or question. Just as the disciplines are interwoven in his work, so are the media he uses for it. He is constantly looking for the creative potential of the "tools of the present," as he calls them.
This openness gives rise to a hybrid approach in Mike Meiré's work, both as an artist and as a designer. While digital tools have become more and more important in the past years, analog tools remain just as important for him. It is precisely in the combination of both spheres that Mike Meiré sees an opportunity to discover and shape new modes of expression.
LAMY safari ncode
The new LAMY safari all black ncode bridges the gap between the analogue notebook and the unlimited world of digital writing.
When we need to quickly capture a few thoughts, we intuitively find it easiest to do so by hand using a pen - handwritten notes, annotations and sketches are the best way to capture our ideas, process what we've experienced and so understand the world.
The LAMY safari all black ncode now adds to this the fantastic potential of digital processing, combining both worlds in a single writing instrument: the advantages of analogue writing on paper with all the possibilities of digital storage and processing.
