Other Tools
Google Services
On our website, we use services of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google LLC has joined the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and is certified according to it, so that a transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the adequacy decision of the European Commission of July 10, 2023 (Art. 45 (1) GDPR). In addition, on the basis of the so-called EU standard data protection clauses, Google has contractually committed itself to ensuring that a data protection standard is observed when transferring personal data from the European Economic Area that essentially corresponds to the European standard (Art. 46 para. 2 lit. c) GDPR). These standard contractual clauses represent an additional guarantee under data protection law, on the basis of which a transfer to third countries such as the USA can take place (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). Please note that we cannot guarantee that Google will be able to comply with these contractual obligations in every case. You can find more information about Google in the data protection information at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de
The individual services used are described below:
Google Analytics
We use the analysis and statistics tool “Google Analytics” on our website. With the help of Google Analytics, we can statistically evaluate the use of our website. This allows us to understand how users reach our website, what content and areas they are particularly interested in and what actions they take on our website.
Google collects the following categories of data in particular
- Shortened (anonymized) IP address,
- the website accessed
- the website from which the user came to the accessed page (so-called referrer URL) and the type of referrer (e.g. search engine, social network, link)
- the search terms used by the user to reach our website
- the subpages that are opened from the page visited
- the time spent on the website
- the frequency with which the website is accessed
- information about the target group (so-called persona),
- location data (geographical region, country, city),
- language settings,
- browser, operating system, end device, screen resolution,
- Predefined actions (conversions), e.g. clicking on advertising banners, downloading information material,
- Click paths on the page, e.g. entry and exit points, order in which the user accesses page content.
Google deletes the user data collected with Google Analytics after 14 months at the latest. In addition to making the appropriate settings in your browser, you can also prevent the collection of data by Google Analytics cookies by using the browser plugin provided by Google for this purpose: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
Campaign Manager (Google Doubleclick)
We use the “Google Campaign Manager” tool from the Google Marketing Platform. Google Campaign Manager uses cookies to display ads that are relevant to the user, to optimize the performance of advertising campaigns or to prevent a user from seeing the same ads more than once. In addition, Google Campaign Manager can use cookie IDs to record so-called conversions that relate to the ads placed. This is the case, for example, when a user sees an advertisement in the Google advertising network and then visits the advertiser's website with the same browser and performs a certain action there. Due to the marketing tool used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to Google's servers. By integrating the Google ads on our website, Google receives the information that you have called up the corresponding part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account if you are logged in there. Even if you are not registered with Google or logged in, it is possible that Google will collect and store your IP address.
Google Tag Manager
We use the “Google Tag Manager” tool on our website, with which advertisers can manage website tags and thus the setting of cookies. Google Tag Manager is designed as a cookie-free domain and only implements tags. Tags are small code elements on the website that are used, among other things, to measure traffic and visitor behaviour, to record the impact of online advertising and social channels, to determine the target groups of our website and to test and optimize the website. With the help of Google Tag Manager, we can control the setting of such cookies on our site. No additional cookies are set by Google Tag Manager and no personal data is collected. Google Tag Manager triggers other tags that may collect personal data, but does not access this data itself. If a deactivation has been made or an objection declared at domain or cookie level, it will remain in place for all tracking tags if they are set using Google Tag Manager.
YouTube
We include videos and photos on our website that are stored on “YouTube”. YouTube is a platform operated by Google. Google collects your IP address, the date and time of your visit as well as information about the subpage of our website you visited and the video you viewed. This takes place regardless of whether you are logged into a YouTube user account. A connection to the Google advertising network is also established. We use the extended data protection mode here, which, according to the provider, only triggers the storage of user information when the videos are played. This means that as long as you only access one of our web pages with an embedded YouTube video without playing the video, no data will be transmitted to Google. Data is only transmitted when you start a video. Cookies are set to save your desired settings regarding the playback of videos and the transmission of data to Google. These cookies contain pseudonymous data (e.g. cookie ID) for the purpose of recognizing the browser. If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, Google can assign your video view on our site to your YouTube account and use it for the purpose of personalized advertising. If you do not want your YouTube profile to be associated with your visit to our site, you must log out of your YouTube account before activating the YouTube plugin.
Google Fonts
We use “Google Fonts” on this website. These external web fonts are integrated by a server call. This may also be a Google server in the USA. The server is informed which of our web pages you have visited. The IP address of your device is also processed by Google. The data collected by Google through the use of Google Fonts is not processed by us.
Facebook Conversion API
We have integrated “Facebook Conversion API” into this website. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA.
Facebook Conversion API enables us to record the interactions of our website visitors with our website and to share this information with Facebook to improve the promotional performance with Facebook. To do this, in particular the time you accessed the site, the website you accessed, your IP address and your user agent, as well as, if applicable, other specific data (e.g., purchased products, value of the shopping cart and currency) are tracked. For a complete overview of the tracked data, please visit: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/conversions-api/parameters.
If personal data is collected on our website with the assistance of the tool described herein and if it is shared with Facebook, we and Platforms Inc. shall be jointly responsible for the processing of your data, i.e., we are the data controllers. This shared responsibility is limited exclusively to the recording of your data and its sharing with Facebook. The processing that occurs after the data has been shared with Facebook is not part of this shared responsibility. The obligations we share responsibility for have been documented in an agreement on joint processing. The concrete wording of this agreement can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. According to this agreement, we are responsible for the provision of the data protection information when using the Facebook tool and for the data protection law compliant secure implementation of the tool on our website. Facebook is liable for the data security of Facebook products. You may request information on your rights as a data subject (e.g., request for information) related to the data processed by Facebook directly from Facebook.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/legal/EU_data_transfer_addendum
If you claim any data subject rights with us, we are required to forward your request to Facebook. In Facebook’s data privacy policy, you will find additional information pertaining to the protection of your privacy: https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/.
Friendly Captcha
We use “Friendly Captcha” on this website. The provider is Friendly Captcha GmbH, Am Anger 3-5, 82237 Woerthsee, Germany. Friendly Captcha is used to verify whether the entry of data into this website (e.g., into a contact form) is being processed by a person or an automated program. For this purpose, Friendly Captcha analyzes the behavior patterns of website visitors based on numerous characteristics. For the analysis, Friendly Captcha examines a wide range of information (e.g., anonymized IP address, referrer, time of the visit, etc.). For more related information please visit: https://friendlycaptcha.com/legal/privacy-end-users/.
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract mandated by data privacy laws that guarantees that they process the personal data of our website visitors only based on our instructions and in compliance with both UNCTAD and all independent state-initiated regulations.
By providing personal information to us, you are consenting to its storage and use as described in this Policy.
Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for data processing with regard to these services for the purposes described is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If you have given us your consent to use other services on the basis of a notice (‘cookie banner’) placed by us on the website, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
